… at the Grammys!

Foo Fighters scored 5 Grammys at last night’s award show:

- Best Rock Performance for Walk;
- Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance for White Limo;
- Best Rock Song for Walk;
- Best Rock Album for Wasting Light;
- Best Long Form Music Video for Back And Forth.

“To me, this award means a lot because it shows that the human element of making music is what’s most important. Singing into a microphone, learning to play an instrument and learning to do your craft, that’s the most important thing for people to do,” Dave Grohl said as the band accepted their best rock performance trophy for “Walk.” “It’s not about being perfect. It’s not about sounding absolutely correct. It’s not about what goes on in a computer. It’s about what goes on in your heart and what goes on here your head … Long live rock ‘n’ roll!”

Corey Taylor does Everlong

Henry Rollins recruited Corey Taylor (Slipknot / Stone Sour), Scott Ian (Anthrax), Dave Lombardo (Slayer), Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction), Roy Mayorga (Stone Sour) and members of Rob Zombie’s band, including guitarist John 5, for a benefit concert on November 30 at the Avalon in Hollywood, California.  All proceeds from the show will go to Drop In The Bucket, a Los Angeles- and Gulu, Uganda-based non-profit organization that constructs water wells and sanitation systems at large rural schools in sub-Saharan Africa.

The setlist included covers of Kiss, Black Sabbath, AC/DC and … Foo Fighters.

No friends of Foo

Is it related to the newly released trucker video?  Because Dave played Satan in the Tenacious D movie?  Because they like to dress up in nearly every video?  The video for Low?  Anyway… Foo Fighters’ show in Kansas City on September 16th is set to be picketed by members of the notorious Christian fundamentalist church Westboro Baptist Church.

According to a statement on the church’s protest schedule, they have opted to picket Dave and co’s show because: “The entertainment industry is a microcosm of the people in this doomed nation: hard-hearted, hell-bound, and hedonistic. These people have a platform and should be using it to encourage obedience to God; instead they teach every person who will listen all things contrary to him: fornication, adultery, idolatry, fags.

No biggie, just wanted to let you know…

Hot buns are served…

This one is for the ladies!

Check hotbuns.foofighters.com for a crazy clip announcing new North American dates.. and it’s crazy… crazier than the video for Low.  YOU! HAVE! BEEN! WARNED!

Foes of Foo @ iTunesFestival

Two minutes into “Skin and Bones”, Grohl stopped playing when he noticed a fight between two crowd members.  “Get the f*** out of my gig!” he said to huge rapture as security staff quickly evacuated the main offenders. “You don’t come to a Foo Fighters gig to fight, you come to dance!”.
